“True understanding comes from listening, observing, and reflecting on what others feel.” – (Order of the Phoenix, Harry Potter, 2007)
My name is Aarya Dixit, and I am a psychology student passionate about understanding people and supporting them through life’s challenges. I learned a lot through my studies in psychology relating to how thoughts, feelings, and behavior shape our experiences and memories in everyday life. I want to put my knowledge into practice by making safe and supportive spaces where people feel like they belong and are valued. Honesty and empathy are two of my most treasured values and they dictate how I approach my work, storytelling, and interpersonal relationships. Outside of school and work, I love to document life and reflect on meaningful experiences wherever they may happen, especially during celebrations such as festivals, fairs, and concerts. These moments heighten energy, emotion, and connection among people. I also have an interest in entertainment journalism, which allows me to capture culture, tradition, and personal moments, something reflected in this website through storytelling, photos, and video of my Diwali celebrations and the memories created while celebrating away from home.
